Gender equality in the workplace is an issue organization can no longer ignore. Whether convinced of the economic dividends of workplace gender equality, invited by their shareholders, clients and customers or in an aspiration to upgrade their employer value proposition, a large number of organizations decided to make clear commitments to progress and implement a series of practices to foster gender equal work environments. It is now the right time to take stock and to start measuring the impact of such practices in changing the numbers but also the hearts and minds in organization.
The session is an invitation to reflect on such impact as well as concrete ways to measure it. It will present a series of fundamental questions that employees, potential employees, business and HR leaders and shareholders alike need to ask themselves about the state of gender equality in an organization.
It draws on the experience of the EDGE Certified Foundation and its work with its EDGE Certification in 46 countries and across 22 different industries. EDGE Certification is the leading global assessment methodology and business certification standard for gender equality. It is designed to help organizations not only create an optimal workplace for women and men, but also to benefit from it.
EDGE stands for Economic Dividends for Gender Equality and is distinguished by its rigour and focus on business impact. The methodology uses a business, rather than theoretical approach that incorporates benchmarking, metrics and accountability into the process. As an independent, third-party assessment, the EDGE methodology guarantees the integrity of the evaluation and certifications are only awarded after the independent auditors have been able to establish the accuracy of the information.
EDGE Certification was launched at the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in 2011 and PWN Global is a proud partner of EDGE.READ MORE
